I had to beat Elmo, didn't I!!!!!  I'd just bought my brand new Ezzy 5.8m and was dying to use it. 
There were no waves, Elmo wasn't upto Ocean sailing as he was recovering from Ross River, so we decided to sail at Hardies. 
Wind was about 15 to 20 knots, rigged the 5.8m put it on my slalom board and about an hour of racing Elmo on his F2 SX M and 6.2m RS Racing was had.  He was killing me for speed, and giving me that look every time he passed me, really pissing me off!!! 
After an hour of getting whipped we decided to call it, the tide was really low, and the quickest way home was down the boat launch channel.  Elmo killed me as usual, but he stopped about 2/3's the way down walking his gear the rest of the way. 
This was my big chance to overtake him and make it to shore first. I screamed down the channel and there was a split decision to be made.  There was one channel maker between me and victory.  Which side would I pass on? The leeward or windward side?  The windward side as I would be closer to Elmo and I could give him that look he'd just hammered me with for over an hour!!  I took the windward side, passed him, turned around gave him the look.... the wind dropped out, and I fell off the plane, the board flipped, and the top of my brand new sail impaled itself on the top of the serrated windward marker! I couldn't believe it, there was my brand new sail impaled and shredding itself to pieces and every move I made tore more and more shreds off the sail, It was like everything became slow motion, how could I be this stupid, how could I have not foreseen this, you F*#king Imbecile!!  Expletive Expletive Expletive!!!!!!!!  All coz "I had to beat Elmo!!"
